Water Centric (WC) is a social entrepreneurship organization that is a ‘bridge’ between geographic areas that are in the most urgent need of improved water, sanitation and hygiene and the international agencies, foundations, corporations, technical experts and individuals committed to changing the situation. WC connects local solutions with international funding and expertise – and quickly brings practical and sustainable ideas to scale.

WC is aware that most solutions to the challenges of water/sanitation today are well established. Rather than focus on a ‘miracle technology’ to solve the world’s water problems or to reinvent the wheel, it strives to find the ‘right fit’ of technology that is effective and culturally appropriate to the context. Some examples: rainwater harvesting to increase water access, improved design of pans to keep latrines clean with very little water and inexpensive technologies to purify contaminated water supply at the point of use.
